More often than not, we get stuck on social media for so long that we cannot seem to get away from any of them any time soon. We connect through social media to a point of overwhelming annoyance. Time, as we know it, has become less friendly and gets shorter and shorter because most of it has been spent mindlessly and purposelessly on random posts from strangers, whom we mistakenly believe to be friends. Well, it’s a form of artificial friendship, if you will. Needless to say, we find most of what we view on newsfeed irrelevant, if not useless, but the sign of ending is not near as the stream of news and stories flows ceaselessly. When will enough be enough? The answer remains the same: Never!

How to stay sane in a world so connected yet insanely influencing our lives in many ways? The suggestion is: Please turn off your notifications for a while and see if it keeps you less distracted or else. I have tried that, and it has become a habit for me to never read or watch anything outside of my interest.

You can and you should stay away from unimportant stories posted or shared by random friends on social media if you wish to stay focused on your study or your work, for that matter. Once again, if!
